TOTAL workshop at MGIMO
October 1st-5th  TOTAL Professors Association presented annual lecture course at MGIMO University. As a part of cooperation between MGIMO and the Association invited Professors hold seminars and workshops before students each year. This year that was Professor J.E. Blumereau who gave lectures for Master’s students on “Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Contracts”.

The purpose of the TOTAL Professors Association is:

- To promote relationships among universities, institutes of higher education and the petroleum world, by means of presentations given by teachers and experts active both in France and abroad.
- To inform both French and foreign students about petroleum techniques and career opportunities, about natural gas and chemistry markets’ trends and the relative educational branches existing in France.

During one-week course Professor Blumereau discussed with Master students specificity of gas contracts, different types of agreements, settlement of disputes, development costs, cost oil in relation with profit oil. The course focused on two main types of oil contracts : the Concession and the Exploration & Production Sharing Contract. Other types of contracts were mentioned in a more condensed form (services contracts, buy-back contracts).  More than 50 students of different specializations (International Relations, Finance, Energy, Political Science) participated in the course and received certificates upon its completion.
